My favourite stylist

Today I would like to share with you my favourite stylist. She's talented, beautiful, gets it right every time and she's called 'the Rachel Zoe of Holland', she's Danie Bles. Many of you probably don't know her, but in Holland she's known for dressing the hottest people in the showbusiness. Almost two years ago she launched her own magazine 'ByDanie' where she lets you into her fashionable world and shows you where you can find the latest fashion trends, whether it is in Milan, Paris or Amsterdam where she is situated.

Once a year Danie Bles puts together her own fashion show, mix & match, somewhere in the Netherlands. During this show she creates mix and match outfits and shows the audience how you can combine vintage with big brand names like 'supertrash'.

I've seen her walk around in Amsterdam a few times and every time I'm tempted to ask her if she can be my personal stylist, but I doubt she will haha.

You can follow her blog http://www.bydanie.nl/, the only thing is, it's written in Dutch.

I dream of having my own styling business one day... maybe one day I will be the 'Danie Bles of Victoria, Australia'. A girl can dream, no?

Happy Fashionable New Year

Dear Fashionistas,

New Years Eve is approaching. Have you thought about what you are going to wear? I have and I will show you below! The most important thing about picking a good new years eve outfit, or any outfit for that matter, is to know what kind of night it's going to be, so location is key. Are you celebrating in a posh club or on the beach or a houseparty? You will probably get lots of strange looks if you wear a very posh, Herve Leger kind of dress and you are going to a beach party.
I am going to a houseparty for new years eve, so I opted for a very simple black dress. I thought "yea black goes with everything" so I didn't think that picking out my accessories would be very hard. Was I wrong. In my mind I wanted bright, dark blue accessories, but then I found a very cute hippy, flowery head band and I thought it would go really well with my dress. So that made everything a little harder, but not impossible. Because the head band is now the main accessory I should keep the rest very simple and fine. So I chose this beautiful leaf necklace. The shoes I haven't figured out yet, below are three options but I may replace them all with another kind. Hope you like it!

Have a good New Years Eve everyone and stay safe!

Merry Christmas

Hello my fashion friends,

As everyone is busy running around buying presents, I am busy trying to find the perfect Christmas outfit. I think a Christmas outfit should be very simple but chique. Just because it's Christmas one shouldn't dress up like a Christmas tree with lots of glitter and red and green. It's just not necessary. Always remember what you wore last year for Christmas, you wouldn't want to be spotted with the same outfit two years in a row. If you can't remember, I'm sure someone took pictures so have a look on them. White is always risky as the festivities is mainly food and drinks. Last year I wore a white dress and someone spilled red wine on it, I was nearly in tears.

Below I put together three outfits. Enjoy!

Outfit 1: Dress: H&M, Shoes: Zu, Earrings: Collette. You can never go wrong with a beautiful, simple black dress. As there are prints on the dress, try and keep the rest of the outfit relatively simple. I chose these beautiful, orange peeptoe pumps, but as it is a black dress, any colour shoe would go with this (except dark brown, don't even go there). Blue would be nice or even pink if you are in a daring mood. You can even opt for a nice black pump but then it would be an idea to accessorize it with bright colours like orange, pink, red, green etc.

Outfit 2: Kaftan: Forever new, Shoes: Zu, Earrings: Collette. I have kept this outfit very much on the safe side by accessorizing it with silver. A yellow or orange clutch would look very nice with this outfit. A few nice silver bangles would complete the outfit.

Outfit 3: Navy blue trousers: Miss Selfridge, Blouse: H&M, Blazer: H&M, White top: H&M, Shoes: ZU
This is a very different outfit than the other two, but equally as nice. I gave you two options. The first one is with the blouse. Tuck this one into your trousers to make sure you show off the trousers and the belt. A very plain white blouse would also look great with these pants. The second option is a plain white singlet or t-shirt. Tuck this one also into the trousers and top it off with a nice brown/champagne colour blazer. Finish off these outfits with a nice pair of brown heels or wedges. For the second option you could also change the belt into a red, thin belt and match them with the same heels but in a red colour. Sandals are also possible under these trousers but make sure your trousers don't drag on the floor.

Good luck with finding your Christmas outfit this year. Merry Christmas everyone!

Victoria's Secret

Today's blog is dedicated to the most beautiful lingerie brand, Victoria's Secret. Every year Victoria's Secret will host a fashion show where beautiful angels strut their new lingerie collection. Just last week was the 2011 fashion show. I absolutely love Victoria's Secret and I wish that Australia (and Amsterdam) opened up a store, I'm such a sucker for sexy lingerie.  Their collection consists from basics to swimwear to sleepwear to very seductive and romantic. Which girl wouldn't want a closet full of Secrets?

My favourite city in the world...

Hello my fashion friends,
I hope you had a great weekend and enjoyed the sunshine :)
Today I thought I would blog about my favourite city in the world... Can you guess which city it is? I think all my friends would chant PARIS at the same time. Yes, it's Paris. I am so in love with this city. Not only is it an incredibly beautiful city, it is also the home of Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Lacroix, Jean Paul Gaultier and ofcourse shoe designer Christian Louboutin (which girl wouldn't want a pair of Louboutins??)
I already have a collection of eiffel tower necklaces, earrings, a bag and a Paris thermos. Below I will share a few of my personal pictures of my time spend in Paris...

Tell me, what's your favourite city and why?

Bisous and enjoy the pictures, Joyce

The best view you can only get from the top of the Sacre Coeur. It's a fair walk up the stairs, but the view is breathtaking
The sacre coeur, inside is also very beautiful. Unfortunately not allowed to take photo's inside.

Moulin rouge, who doesn't know this ;). I think a show and dinner is definitely worthwhile, but it was too expensive for us.
The Louvre. If you love art, then this is for sure a place to check out.
Galeries Lafayette is a French department store. This department store is beautiful inside.
 On top of Galleries Lafayette
How can you not love this city
Ofcourse I had to visit a fashion show in Paris ;)
 Love love love
 The Eiffel Tower

 The Seine
 Under the Eiffel Tower
View from the Eiffel Tower. Every different view is breathtaking.
 Just like this one
My favourite street ;) the Avenue des Champs Elysees!
Champs Elysees

Place du Tetre. Artists paint beautiful paintings here. They also draw portraits.
So I got one done too :)
Some may recognize this cafe. Yes... it's 'Amelie's' cafe!
I hope everyone will have a chance to visit the city of love!
xoxo
